The Business Challenge

With thousands of events per year, and some raising up to hundreds of thousands of dollars from many individual donors, there’s a lot on the line to ensure all logistics run smoothly. Softgiving needed a charitable technology partner who could safely and securely process all of the individual donations placed through their charity streams, plug directly into their platform’s backend, and ensure that the donors, charities, and brands have access to all of the needed reporting and documentation.

The Partnership

Softgiving trusts Givinga to ensure all payments are securely collected and transparently delivered to the intended charitable recipient. In turn, Softgiving can dedicate its time where innovation is truly needed. Today, they continue to work with both brands and content creators to increase viewership for charity streams, align them with charitable causes, and manage high-stakes live stream events and marketing campaigns.

Softgiving also works directly with charities to take on the heavy lift of fundraising and help them reach a new generation of donors at scale. To spotlight one charity in particular, the Trans Empowerment Project received over $500,000 from Softgiving campaigns over the course of 18 months. This has resulted in transformative change for their organization, enabling them to grow from a completely volunteer organization to hiring 10 paid employees. Softgiving continues to work with TEP, helping them ideate and execute new campaigns and recruit streamers that align with their mission and community holidays.
